If you’ve always had it in your head that you need a marketing plan, but never actually had a ‘proper one’ – I want to let you in on a little secret… The only reason for a ‘proper’ Marketing Plan is to get clarity about how, when and where you’re going to sell more this year. It’s not as fancy or hard or complicated as you might think.
As a part of this month of planning we’ve suggested that you set three goals:
- Revenue Goal
- Growth Goal
- Personal Goal
In the workbook, we’ve given you space to break those goals down into small milestones (one for each month) and asked you to set a deadline and a reward to add accountability into your annual plan.
Your growth goal and personal goals are probably pretty straightforward, but when it comes to your revenue goal, you might be feeling a little bit panicked. How on earth are you going to make more money this year?
Well there are basically only two ways you’re going to hit those milestones to earn more next year:
- Get More transactions
- Make More per Transaction
When we look at increasing the number of transactions or sales, you’ve got two levers to adjust
- Who you sell to (clients)
- What you sell (products/services)
When we look at increasing the amount you make in each transactions or sale, you’ve got two another two levers to adjust:
- The Value (price)
- The Volume (quantity)
That’s it! Although you notice, nowhere above have we included ‘luck’ or ‘hope’ as a tactic that you can take to the bank. You need to think about you options, make some choices and make some noise. But how?
Well the above options reveal 4 Key Ways to Earn More Revenue:
- Sell to more Clients (or more to existing clients)
- Tweak your Product offering
- Raise your Prices
- Raise your average sale
That’s pretty much it. It’s not exactly rocket science, but somehow these 4 activities can absolutely confound us. They feel so impossible sometimes! Well not anymore! Today we’re going to break these opportunities down for you, and give you a chance to look at each path to revenue, make some choices and set some plans for your marketing in 2018.
Your Challenge
